Five players in double figures, 10 wins for Polonia Warszawa

Ten wins in eleven games. SKK Polonia Warszawa continue to rock in the European Women`s Basketball league – the Black Shirts defeated Frankivsk Prykarppattya, 89-56, on Sunday, November 26, at the Hala Ostravská univerzita in Ostrava, Czech Republic.


Players of the game

Kayla Wells scored 10 points in the second half in a win against SBŠ Ostrava on Saturday.


She didn`t stopped there and led all scorers with 21 points on Sunday.


A former Texas A&M Aggie went 9/15 from the field, including outstanding 3/4 from the three point line.

Julia Berezowska was no less impressive.


Backcourt player had 17 points on 5/8 shooting from the deep – in less than 18 minutes of play.


Frontcourt duo Zada Williams (Florida 2020) and Martyna Leszczynska contributed with 13 and 10 points respectively.

Weronika Preihs chipped in with 10 points.

Daria Kononunchenko debuted in the EWBL with 20 points.


Frankivsk Prykarpattya newcomer went 7/10 from the field, including impressive 3/4 outside the arc.

Captain Oksana Mollova posted 19 points and 10 rebounds.


Key stats

The game was rather tight in the first 20 minutes until Polonia secured a seven points lead, 37-30.

The Polish team improved its performance after the break and tripled lead in the third quarter, 65-43.


Polonia held Prykarpattya to 13 points quarter after quarter after quarter.

Five Polonia players finished in double figures.


Many players had a field day from the three point line.

Polonia went 13/25 from the deep, as Zuzanna Sklepowicz, Kayla Wells, Julia Berezowska and Weronika Preihs made at least two triples each.


Daria Kononunchenko and Oksana Mollova combined for 7/9 from the rest, while rest of the team went 1/15.


Polonia Warszawa bench outscored their opponents, 46-8.


Game notes

Polonia Warszawa finished its first season in the EWBL with a 8-1 record and a bronze medal.


The Polish team added two consecutive wins in a span of 26 hours.


Jerome Fournier and his girls are 2-0 in the competition.


Polonia Warszawa leads the series against Frankivsk Prykarpattya, 3-0.
