Kośla scores 21 in the second half, TTT double the win count

Emilia Kośla scored 21 of her 22 points in the second half to lead TTT Rīga over Levharti Chomutov 76-68 on Saturday, December 10, at the Daugavas Sports hall in Rīga, Latvia.

Emilia Kośla had the best game so far for Black and Gold.

A young Polish guard made 7-of-12 field goal attempts in the second half and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.


Kośla scored 12 points in the fourth quarter, outscoring Levharti Chomutov by one point.


Gunta Baško added five more points in the final frame.


Evergreen forward played her 200th game for TTT on December 1 at Šiauliai and continues to deliver.

Baško scored 16 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out five assists for a game high efficiency rating of 27.

Kate Vilka had 17 points and a team high six assists.


Shooting guard helped Latvia national team to qualify for the EuroBasket Women 2023 with a home win against Israel on November 27.


Marta Miščenko had a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Monika Fučikova scored 18 points for Levharti Chomutov, including a 4-of-9 performance from the three point line.


Valentyna Kadlecova contributed with 15 points.


A 2022 FIBA U20 European Championship first team member injured her nose late in the first half but returned to play.

Katerina Bartonova had four points and a game high seven assists.


Key stats

TTT outrebounded Levharti 55-45 but did not secured the offensive glass in the second half.


The Latvian team struggled from the deep and made just 3-of-24 shots from the three point line.

Baško, Miščenko and Vilka penetrated the paint in the first half to force numerous fouls.

Kośla joined the party in the second half as the Rigans went to the line 35 times.

TTT players forced 30 fouls in total.


Monika Satoranska fouled out midway the first quarter and Valentyna Kadlecova eventually followed her teammate.


Foul trouble proved decisive despite Kadlecova`s relentless efforts.


She cut the gap to one point 68-67.


Vilka`s drive renewed a three point lead for the Rigans 70-68.

Kadlecova split the free throws 70-68.


The Czech team didn`t managed to score again despite numerous second chances.


Game notes

TTT improved to 2-1 and posted a 2-0 record against Czech teams.


Emilia Kośla joined the Riga team on November 28 and may sign until the end of the season after the first month of play.


Levharti Chomutov beat EuroCup Women team KP Brno 80-59 on December 2 but wasn`t at full strength in Riga.


EWBL scoring record holder Najai Wynn-Pollard unfortunately stayed in Czechia this time.
