Pollard returns with double-double, Chomutov make home fans happy


Najai Pollard returned to action after missing Rīga stage and registered a double-double as Levharti Chomutov scored a 74-58 win over Šiauliai Vilmers on Saturday, January 14, at the Mestska sportovni hala in Chomutov, western Czechia.

A reigning EWBL scoring record holder returned with a win.


Najai Pollard struggled from the field but found another ways to score.

She finished with 15 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the free throw line.

Delaware State star grabbed a team high 13 rebounds and forced seven fouls.

Michaela Krejzova outscored everyone else as she posted a game high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field, including a 2-of-5 from the three point line.

Chomutov captain added seven rebounds and two steals for a game high efficiency rating of 21.

Monika Satoranska registered 11 points and six rebounds.

Forward had the best +/- ratio of 22.

Katerina Bartonova pulled the strings as usual – she dished out seven assists and was effective in numerous ways.

Danguole Pupkevičiūte scored 14 points for Šiauliai Vilmers.


A 2022 European U18 champion had three steals too.


Morgan Lenahan posted 13 points and 13 rebounds enroute to a team high efficiency rating of 16.


Wagner standout added two assists.


Rūta Stiprā scored 12 points and grabbed nine boards.


Key stats

Levharti Chomutov shared the ball better and registered 13 assists on 25 field goals.

Šiauliai had four assists on 20 field goals.


Both teams struggled from the deep but Chomutov penetrated better.

The hosts made 21-of-29 free throw attempts compared to 14-of-20 for Šiauliai.


Levharti Chomutov shot 21% from the field in the first half.

The bench players added 19 points in the second half to improve Chomutov`s shooting.

Levharti reserves outscored Šiauliai 19-3 during the last 20 minutes.


Game notes

Levharti Chomutov improved to 3-3 and may be a win away from the Final 4.


The Czech team averaged 88 points in Warsaw stage but suffered two losses at Rīga against TTT and SBŠ Ostrava.


This is the reason why three wins are not enough in order to qualify.


Šiauliai dropped to 2-3 but has two more game to play against Polonia Warszawa and Neptūnas Klaipeda.

Romualdas Petronis team has showed a remarkable resilience so far, despite a short roster.
