RSU defeat TTT to finish in the fifth place


Una Šteinharde hit a game winning three pointer as Rīga Stradiņš University defeated TTT, 76-71, and finished the regular season in the fifth place on Wednesday, February 1, at the Rimi Olympic Centre in Rīga, Latvia.

Māra Mote scored 21 points for the winners on 4-of-9 shooting from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line.

A 2021 NCAA finalist with Arizona addded six rebounds and four steals for a efficiency rating of 24.

Enija Vīksne dropped 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field.

Point guard had seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Anita Miķelsone also scored 12 points, while Katrīna Ozola and Una Šteinharde had 11 and nine points respectively.

Ilze Jākobsone led all scorers with 23 points.

TTT point guard posted 15 points in the second half.

Marta Miščenko and Gunta Baško had 12 points each.

Ilze Jākobsone sparked a TTT comeback and cut the gap to four points, 71-67, with two minutes left.

Una Šteinharde replied with a three pointer for a seven point lead, 74-67.

Marta Miščenko scored four consecutive points to make it a one possession game with 29 seconds to go, 74-71.

Kate Vilka fouled Māra Mote and Ilze Jākobsone fouled Una Šteinharde.


Šteinharde sank both free throws to set the final score, 76-71


Jākobsone missed last three point attempt.


Game notes

Ilze Jākobsone had a contract with Israeli vice-champion Maccabi Ashdod.


She won the Israel State Cup and left the club after the end of EuroCup Women campaign.


Vanesa Jasa joined TTT on loan shortly after her Spanish club IDK Euskotren didn`t qualified for the EuroCup Women play-offs.


The duo strengthened TTT back-court but RSU guards were better on Wednesday.


Matīss Rožlapa`s team finished the EWBL debut season with three consecutive wins.


TTT dropped to the seventh place.
